Mowgli is notorious for his ability to stare down any animal in the jungle, even Bagheera cannot withstand that stare -- it doesn't really seem to work against Kaa, though?

What a silly competition, not to mention each time after the hypnosis Mowgli has to wake up squeezed in many odd ways between the coils, it's always hard to tell hands from feet after hours of "playing" with Kaa XD

Which is sadly not depicted here...

Kaa was always my favorite Jungle Book character. :) It's kind of weird, though, how he's a wise mentor in the original stories and even in the Sabu film, and a cowardly failed-cannibal villain in the Disney cartoons.

Also, Kaa's hypnosis didn't work on Mowgli in the books...looks like you're going for a compromise here.

This reminds me of your Mohan and Miyavi, but more cinematic (which is a very good thing)

you could definitely cast Kipling's stories in a 'fresh light' (Lewis Carroll approves :P)

I watched the Alexander Korda version of Jungle Book the other day starring Sabu. He was such a beautiful man.

Oh yeah, I think Sabu is the best Mowgli thus far ^-^
Though I'd vote for a long-haired Mowgli, not sure how good long hair would look on Sabu though, but in the Jungle Book Mowgli had a long beautiful hair that would often fall on his pretty face ^^ (almost citing the book)
All in all, it's pretty clear from the phrases here and there in the book that Mowgli wasn't at all ugly ^_^
