Therius for 150mm by yuni Therius for 150mm by yuni
This is a gift I did for ~150mm, her character Therius (or Theri), warming up his flexibility skills for the acrobatic performance

The pose was inspired by the acrobatic troupe "The Seanors" that performed around the 1950s if I'm not mistaken, though I drew the whole thing by myself, just tried to keep it close to the original :3

Drawn: July '07

Of course I've already shown it to 150mm, so she knows this picture purrfectly, but I'd love to know what others think of it :aww:

Btw, this is one more picture in the series of "more realistic works" :D

this picture is so perfect.i am a male contortionist and yuni seems to understand how boys can stretch..and how the base of the spine can fold..the artist seems to understand contortion in a spiritual way! knowing exactly how we feel when in these poses

Yes, yuni was also practicing contortion in the past (just a little bit, not so extreme!), so it's easy to imagine for the artist how it feels to do these poses. And yes, contortion is spiritual, beautiful and just very pleasant both to look at and to practice!

I love your pose and think this is beautiful, but have one small critique from an artistic standpoint. Have you thought about making the background a different color in order to make the character stand out more? Too much red tends to overshelm the human eye and details sometimes get lost.. . Just a thought.
