Well, this is today's redraw of my first digital drawing made
exactly 11 years ago on March 8th, 2002 ^^ I often said that I've
been drawing contortion since my very first drawing, so this is
the proof XD

I almost feel like the old drawing was made yesterday and nothing
at all changed in my feelings about contortion or anything else. I
don't quite understand what I did to make all these changes you
can see here happen. Well, I guess art is bound to change when you
keep drawing for many years :>

Oh I kept looking at this girl and suddenly a story popped up :3

~ * ~

Her name is Marie and every day after school she visits the
facultative class named "Fitness and Flexibility" at her school.
The class takes about an hour and a half daily and it's led by a
good friend of Marie's mother. The women knew each other since
school and that's why Marie's mother wanted her daughter to take
this class.

The girls there trained to be fit and danced and worked out a lot.
The unusual part of their fitness routines was stretching but it
was optional and every girl chose for herself how flexible she
wanted to be. Despite stretching wasn't obligatory, there was some
kind of an unspoken competition between the girls and many girls
visited the class mainly for stretching. They only worked out and
danced to warm up, and then stretched sometimes for a whole hour.

Marie wasn't that much obsessed but she wasn't among the least
flexible either. The teacher was very good and the girl became
flexible surprisingly quickly. She never stretched before but
after her first year in the class she could do the split and even
a bit more, she could even sit on her own head with the teacher's
assistance.

Her mom was very proud of Marie, she often filmed her and took
pictures. She filmed almost a whole video tape and filled a huge
photo album. It was very interesting to see how a clumsy girl
eventually turned into a beautiful and fit acrobat and learned to
do amazing things with her body. Her spine, so very stiff at
first, appeared bent nearly in half backwards on the late pages of
the album.

At the end of her first year her mom took Marie to a photo studio
where they made some quality pictures under guidance of a
professional photographer who arranged some beautiful compositions
using the girl's abilities to the fullest. The photographer made
her change several outfits during the shooting to make the
pictures more expressive and varied: casual clothes, aerobics
outfits, leotards and even some exotic catsuits that Marie never
wore before.

Marie and her mom looked through the pictures after they were
finished and her mom asked if the girl wanted to go for a second
year. Marie immediately nodded, she wasn't even considering to
quit in the first place and she liked her pictures very much. Then
her mom smiled, stood up and took something from the bookshelf: it
was a new, empty photo album that allowed for twice as big
pictures. To Marie's surprise the album's first few pages were
already filled with bigger prints from that photo session, but
there were so, so many pages yet to fill...

ah, I've been so busy with classes, I haven't had more than a few seconds to glance over your work from the past few months!

y'know, the old version really wasn't all that bad, lol, just a very different style--even the little anatomical inaccuracies would be more accurate than most anime drawings! though I have to admit, I definitely prefer your current style.

it would have been cute if the sweat drop was actually a little hair clip ^_~

The old version was drawn 10 years ago, I don't think it's bad but I wanted to try drawing the very same picture 10 years later ^o^ I'm very happy that you prefer my current style because, well, if it was otherwise I'd be in trouble since I only have the current one XD

I was thinking to redraw some more old works but didn't find anything very interesting, they were all kind of silly XD So I picked this one only because it was the very first one :3

Oh yes, if the sweat drop was a little hair clip, it would have been very cute!! ^-^

To be honest, I like them both. Obviously, the new one is more "polished," but this comparison delightfully shows the development of your genius...

Wow, the power of perseverance! Lol mine look like the first you did, when comparing it to other artist I chickened out, the mysteries of digital art elude me, But I just enjoy and admire your work. You have truly evolved and improved, my hat off to you.

I've never commented before, just lurked. First discovered your work in 2005 and have enjoyed watching the development of your style(s) since then. It's really been a joy to check back every now and then to see a new piece uploaded and read a new description or story associated with the piece. The imagination and work you pour into each of your pieces is really rather inspiring, so I also thank you for having shared your work all these years.

Keep on truckin, this world can always use a little more brightness.
