I kept saving it at different stages so I could show it to my buddies ~AoiShu and ~yoshiwam and I really would have never finished this piccy without their support! ^_^

I thought I'd put this up for no particular reason ^_^;; I don't know in what way it's useful but hope you'll enjoy looking through it ^_^

Lineart was done in Adobe Illustrator.

this was my desktop for a long long time ... seeing it again, I think I will put it back up, it is so incredibly awesome. I would love to be able to draw this ... you did it freehand? (not familiar with illustrator). and colored it after? ... he's amazing. it was incredible thumbing through the process. your talent is totally epic!

The artwork is gorgeous in itself, but I have to say I really enjoy seeing art progress from start to finish. I love to see which parts the artist worked on first and so on. ^_^ Thanks for posting this.

this. is. amazing.
the details are incredible. and you have a great understanding of lighting/shading. i love how this was colored. it looks so real. how long does it typically take you to make a picture with as many characters as this?
i enjoyed seeing the progression of this piece.

thank you so much for posting a "step by step" of this piece. This along with your through the years portfolio you did in your tutorial section were of great help and inspiration to me. It lets me know that theres a lot more I can do in photoshop and that I really can just keep progressing. Thank you.

I'll tell you more, Photoshop is only limited to your own skills, in the end it's not Photoshop that paints the picture but you. So I for one usually make progress by learning HOW TO PAINT, not just finding some new feature in Photoshop. But Photoshop on its own is a great tool, definitely an industry standard in many ways and I doubt I for one would ever be able to draw exactly what I want without it, it really makes many things about creating a good artwork very intuitive so kudos to Adobe.

My favorite section has to be the back wall with the candle alcoves and the pots. The texture is great, and I looked at the final pic earlier today, but this little doodad brought out even more details I hadn't noticed! Awesome!
