Cartoony version of Matthew from my front page ^^

I'm more into realism in general but always wanted to learn a celshading technique and some cute cartoony style too ^-^ And I can't help it but love when characters look super naive like that XD

Also, this took only 2 hours of work!

It's also my way to say "no" to the rectangle canvas XDDD

Take that, rectangle canvases! XD Ahhhh, still wish we had that all around projector... like living in a circus:heart: He's so darn cute, especially with all that material hanging off of his toes like that! Very huggable. I love sweet and naive looking characters too, they're just too adorable. I never got the hang of cellshading myself, but you've done wonderfully!

Nice! I personally love cel-shading. It gives it a very cartoony look. It is very simple, and yet so well done. Shame he couldn't be bending, but hey, I guess your characters have to take a break sometimes, right? I like his tights how they just hang at the end.

And yeah! Say no to rectangles!

Yup! He can be bending in one of the future pics as well, I was just practicing and I'm totally gonna try some cartoony contortion soon! ^-^

No matter which style you choose to use, you have a graceful way of creating your characters. This style of shading was the kind I use to do in Coreldraw and Illustrator... I like it, but seem to have strayed away from it.

Keep it up! Either way you create, it still comes out sweet!

I traced the lineart in Illustrator from a drawing on paper and then colored in Photoshop ^^

Thanks so much for the kind comment ^_^

I just love Illustrator for that. I should do more of my lineart that way. It would make things a bit easier. When I used Coreldraw more, I did everything from the lineart to the color process, and it was ok. I think I have a couple of Vector art in my gallery...

Anyway, do more! I like both styles! :D
