A little body modification contest in Hudja, a more or less modern country located somewhere in the mountains with, however, some very tribal traditions, pretty shocking (to a stranger) views on the human body, as well as some very strange deities to worship.

The waist-cinching methods in Hudja differ a lot from the 19th century European variant where ladies were used to get a moderately sized corset and then "train" themselves to wear smaller and smaller ones. In Hudja a child gets a normally sized belt at the age of about 3 and later the size of the belt never changes as they grow up, allowing for a very smooth and painless adaptation and having a baby-size waist even in their 20s.

Small waist sizes are generally praised in Hudja, so it's no wonder there are contests where the participants show off the more extreme variants of waist reduction, as well as other breath-taking body modifications.

I want to touch him...I can't imagine how the skin feels around there.

I really like the way this is drawn, specially the belt around the waist, it looks so realistic. However, I'm not really into this kind of stuff...makes me feel sick inside for some reason.
Other than that, this looks awesome :)

It's okay. I found this person a few minutes ago and I feel exactly the same way about the tiny waists... Nice art, but Jesus Christ. D:

The torso and arms are absolutely amazing! Everything about the picture seems so soft and delicate, even the bones look smooth and polished beneath the surface of his skin. MAN I sound creepy XD Sorry. Maybe it's the suggestion from the shades and hues in the image but his silhouette is even more striking with the lighter colors behind his middle.

If you don't mind, may I ask you a few questions?
When you begin a drawing do you plan out the image with negative/positive space in mind?
I realize it's fictional though based in reality but would you mind further describing or explaining about the metal bracer on his ribs? I think that it beautifully accentuates his narrow middle and the bony formation of his hips and ribcage.
Oh yeah one more question is Hudja a play on the Hoodia plant?

I love your art, even if I was a little repulsed at first, AT FIRST. Many of the things I love today are things I used to be afraid of or make fun of! I'm going to start tightlacing myself down to 21" soon.... (not that that's much of an adjustment, seeing as I'm currently 22")

But.... what ARE those things on his ribcage? I can't figure out what function they serve....

wow, I'm amazed by your drawing skills- I thought it's a photography, but then I saw some brushwork on his hands and face...but it doesn't change the fact, that the rest of his body are shaded perfectly. I'm in awe.
